Romain de Tirtoff born 1892 in St Petersburg as Roman Petrovich became known as the father of Art Deco due to his fashion designs and quality bronze works.He moved to France to follow his dream as a top designer and was brought to Hollywood and worked on films including Ben-Hur before his death in 1990. He signed his pieces ERTE PARIS .I bring a heavy Art Deco bronze with original bevelled circular mirror in very good condition signed ERTE PARIS on the rear.This piece shows its patina due to its age around 1925-1930. Height 545mm Width base 250mm Depth base 155.An amazing slice of Art Deco history.
